Grazing Item of the Week - New Bridge Truffle Cheddar

One of my favorite things to do is meander through speciality stores and boutique markets for new and exciting grazing board ingredients. Do not let price tags fool you. Just because it’s expensive, doesn’t mean it will be delicious. Equally, just because it’s inexpensive, doesn’t mean it won’t taste good. With this in mind, I’d like to introduce my latest inexpensive and utterly delicious cheese find… New Bridge Truffle Cheddar.

You’d think that two strong flavors like truffle and cheddar would war with one another but the delicious aromatic and creamy, nutty, sharp flavor of this cheese is next level. The block in my blog pic was $6 and it has become a staple on many a graze experience since I’ve discovered it.

New Bridge seems to have a niche with combining bold stand alone flavors in one cheese and in this case, showcasing black Italian truffle in just the right amount to balance out the earthy cheddar flavor you can only find in the U.S. works on every level.

This cheese is a one of a kind mix of delicious flavors to add to any grazing or charcuterie board. I serve it broken up into crumbled morsels but you could slice and display in a multitude of ways. For those who love to pair their cheese experience, this one goes down beautifully with a toothsome soppressata and a glass of woody pino noir.
